Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2020 Acura RDX- Video
Hi there, Acura owners. Today, on your 2020 Acura RDX, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's four-pole flat trailer connector vehicle wiring harness. Our wiring's gonna be stored internally on this vehicle, so you won't have anything here at the back. We can go ahead and open up the rear hatch, and this protects our harness to ensure that it doesn't have any damage that occurs to it. Keeps it protected from the elements. When you're ready to use it, you'll just drape it out the back here. more

So today we're going to be checking out a total of three different wiring kits, over here we have the Tekonsha kit, here in the middle we have the Curt wiring, and over here we have the Hopkins wiring. Now, before we kinda get carried away in some of the differences and things like that, I just wanted, one to point out which one I would choose, and just a little bit why. And I think I would lean towards the Curt wiring, this one here. And that's really because of a couple of things, one of them being that the box is really nice, all the wires are nice, and it is fused. And I don't want to get too carried away here but, that's kind of some of the big differences, from the other kits. more

How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2016 Acura RDX, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness. Many of our RDX customers use their hitch to do a little bit of everything, which includes towing. That's where the wiring is going to come into play. Once you hook this up to your trailer, that's going to allow those lighting functions on the back of your trailer to match up with the lights in the back of your RDX, keeping you safe and legal. And something I really like about this kit is the fact that it's going to utilize our factory connector, so more or less it'll plug right in and it's also going to have a module box. more

Many Acura RDX owners use their hitch to do a little bit of everything, and that includes towing, and that's where the wiring is going to come into play. The one thing that I really like about this wiring is the fact that it uses a module box. Hey everyone, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2018 Acura RDX. Now I want to walk through how to install the curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness, adding wiring to your vehicle, can allow you to give your trailer whatever it is you have hauling that has lights on it, the proper light functions from your vehicle while it's being towed. This wiring harness is going to be a very simple installation, just going to plug directly into some factory wiring. And the only thing you have to do is install a couple fuses and you're ready to go. It's going to give you three amps per circuit for your stop and turn signals. more

The wiring harness is gonna give us our four-pole connection, so if we're pulling a trailer or anything that has lights on it, it's gonna give us those proper lighting functions from our vehicle. It's gonna live inside the vehicle so it's gonna stay out of the weather. When we're not using it, it's gonna stay tucked in nice behind this panel, When we're ready to use it, simply pop this panel off, and we can run it outside to our trailer. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Acura RDX we will be having a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number HM11143265.Here's what our wiring looks like installed. As you can see, this wiring is designed to be stored inside the vehicle when it's not in use and that'll help protect it from the elements. This wiring harness is going to give you the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for you to safely and legally tow a trailer. The white wire is our necessary ground connection between our vehicle and our trailer. The brown wire is for our taillight and running light circuit. On this white wire here, we have our necessary ground connection between our RDX and our trailer. The brown wire is our tail light and running light circuit. On this circuit we have six amps of total power output. Those six amps will be sufficient enough to have a few incandescent light bulbs or several LED lights. LED lights draw less power than incandescent lights, so we're able to run more off of this circuit with that. more

Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Acura RDX we will be having a look at, and installing, the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118569. Here's what our wiring looks like installed.This wiring harness gives us the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for us to safely tow a trailer. This black wire here, with the white stripe, is our necessary ground connection between our RDX and our trailer. The wire with the brown stripe, that is our taillight and running light circuit, and on that wire we have a total power output of 7.5 Amps, which is more than adequate to run several incandescent lights, or basically as many LED lights as we want, because they do draw less power.On our black wire with the yellow stripe, that is our left turn signal and left brake light. On that circuit we have a total power output of 4.2 Amps. Tekonsha does recommend a maximum of two lights on that side, so if you have incandescent lights, limit them to two. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Acura RDX- Video
Today in our 2009 Acura RDX, we're gonna be taking a look at installing the tow ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pull flat trailer connector, part number 118500. When you're ready to use your four pull flat connector, you're gonna take it out of our cargo area. We'll lay it across the hatch here, being sure to keep away from our latch, so we don't pinch our wire, and we can just close the hatch right over top of it. When you're done with it, we can open up the hatch and we can just fold it away using the cover as a tie down. The reason you'd want this box is it's gonna isolate the trailer form the vehicle's wiring system, so if you we're to have a back feed or a short, it's not gonna affect the vehicle's wiring, causing a short and maybe taking out a computer on your vehicle. Now to begin our installation we're gonna need to take out the floor of the cargo hatch and the front floor as well, and we're gonna need to remove the spare tire. Now located underneath the front of this styrofoam cover here, there's gonna be a plug taped to the wiring harness. It's gonna be a blue plug. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Acura RDX- Video
Today on 2015 Acura RDX, we will be installing the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 56008. When we want to hook up to our trailer, all you have to do is take it to the side of our hatch latch, close the hatch on down, take the dust cover off. We can hook up to our trailer. Once all the other connections to our trailer are made, we're ready to hit the road. When we arrive at our destination and unhook our trailer, just be sure to reinstall the dust cover. Open your hatch back up, lift up your spare tire cover here, and you can store your wiring out of the way. All right, here's what our kit consists of. We have our trailer wiring converter right here, with our 4-pole flat connector for our trailer. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Acura RDX 56008- Video
Today on our 2009 Acura RDX, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 56008. When you're ready to use your 4-pole flat connector, you're going to take it out of the cargo container here. We'll lay it across the sill plate and the weather stripping here, which is going to help hold it in place. Just make sure you stay away from your latch in the center her so you don't pinch any wiring. Close it down, and you're ready to use it. When you're all done, you can take it back out of there, we can just coil up our wire, a nice, neat little package here. We'll use the cover from our weather tight cover. more
